11/17/2018 Team nook would like to alert everybody to a new rule when submitting designs: When submitting a chimera design, you must also include links to both of the genotype's designs. By providing the nook team with the actual designs, it will help both sides understand the marking usage of this challenging mutation. This has been added under the "Design Approvals" rule list on the monthly journal. We will also work through ways to better help understand how this mutation should look. Have a good evening!

11/09/2018 Good day everybody, it is Sukkol with some important news on the legendary modifiers Tainted, Sunkissed, Moonkissed, and Blessed. Please take the time to view all of their guides over at TheNook to view that free black and free white are not affected by them. This mistake has been mended and we apologize for the inconvenience this may cause. It should also be noted that markings such as highlight, shadow, pinto, and mosaic should stay true to their nature. 8/27/2018 Good evening, Team Nook and Sukkol here with two important things for you all to give a thorough read. Firstly, we have a brand new guide that was created to help our wonderful designers better understand saturation and natural colors when it comes to choosing your Felvarg's colors. Make sure to check it out here and give the examples and text a good look: Guide: Saturation and Natural Colors
We would also like to make a reminder that the flesh color of a Felvarg should not be picked from their parents. While it is okay to base the flesh somewhat off of a Felvarg's general looks, it should still be completely natural. The only exception of this would be if the Felvarg can have blue chow--either from the sire/dam or if the Felvarg has mosaic. We encourage our users to give this guide a refreshing read: Expression: Flesh

This is Deenath for the very first time ever and I'm here to let you all know that all felvarg imports downloaded to Ulfrheim have received a small update - namely a link to their counterpart downloaded in the import database! This way you can now access all the neat activity forms and other information from the database more easily just by going to your felvarg's import in Ulfrheim. The link is right there before reference sheet and personality. Other small fixes have also been made to older imports to make them match the current import information standards. If by some mishap your felvarg is missing the link, please send a note to the group and we will get it added right away!

Go on ahead and check out each marking's guides and take a peek at the coat ranges (which includes satin and wooly) when you have the chance. 07/09/2018 Hello, lovelies! It's your Battle Master here, Elryk-Vail, with a small but important blip before we dive head first into this month’s 1v1 bloodbath. Read carefully!

We’ve seen a variety of personalities and entries pass through 1v1 in the recent months since it was introduced! All of them have been creative, lovely, and oh-so good. The reason this announcement is being made, however, is to act as a reminder for the fundamentals of 1v1. Recently, there has been some straying from the main point of this activity — which is to say, fighting. While we do not require a bloodbath or gore, Felvargs DOES require aggression and/or fighting to be depicted in some way between both characters in a piece. Passiveness in recent months has slowly increased in frequency. Growling and snarling are perfectly acceptable actions to depict in art pieces, but the catch is that the judging team must be able to TELL that these actions are taking place. This means for art entries, Felvargs must not be simply staring at each other, and for literature, there must be some form of a fight having taken place.

Being silly or getting unique with entries is fine! By all means, go wild when it comes to different ideas with your entry. Your Battlemaster finds great joy in goofy, creative pieces. Keep in mind, however, that the group describes 1v1 as a “violent competition” and that the intention of 1v1 is for the felvargs to “fight until near death”.

All entries that are considered to be too passive will be sent back from this point on. Should you have anymore questions on this topic, please either reach out to the Battle Master, a Guardian/Warden, or note the group!

05/17/2018 Hello my loves Kissing here with some juicy updates. First the bad news, Jörmungandr has been delayed given one of our main artists falling ill alongside myself, with other projects underway it means we are slightly behind schedule. The new schedule however pushes us nearing the 1st of June (hopefully sooner), sit tight a little while longer.

The good news?

Hierarchy updates have been pushed live welcoming two more final levels. It also unlocked the diving activity! Be sure to pop over to the HU journal to check out those updates. Be mindful you cannot submit your Felvarg for level 6 given you cannot join Jörmungandr just yet, but you may begin preparing for those of you meeting most of those requirements already.

If you have a level 4 Felvarg that is effected by the switching of level 4's bonus to not fail don't fret. Simply comment here to claim a free Amulet of the Queen on the house, free of charge, so that we do not inconvenience anyone who has achieved this reward to date. Moving forward this reward will be given at level 6. (Be mindful only level 4 Felvargs effected by this change can claim the amulet, as it would not effect anyone previous to this level, this reward offers the same previous level 4 reward not to fail.)

We have more backgrounds coming! 3 more have been completed. The Path of the Fallen, Seat of the Alpha & Lake Reisa with Sanna's Grasp nearing completion as well, be sure to check them out as we upload them and bump the background guide to include them.

We also are going to welcome 2 new continuous competitions. You will have noticed their on the groups front page. (Beacon & Fortress) Sit tight as we push these two new competitions live, they will be one entry vs. one entry unlike usual continuous events requiring more.

04/08/2018 Hello all, it is Sukkol here to announce that Reversal now has completed ranges for each marking that it affects! Instead of trying to figure out how each marking works, just pop onto a markings individual guide, and you will find the reversal ranges directly under the regular ranges. We hope that this will vastly aid all you designers out there. On a similar note, stay tuned for the point swatch update which will be arriving in the near future.

04/04/2018 Good evening everyone, your mighty leader Kissing here with some exciting news. As most of you have noticed surely the nook has been undergoing some interesting changes over the last week, team Felvargs has been working very hard to push forward a great many changes we hope will aid in users designing their Felvargs with a little more freedom than usual. Finding a balance for this many markings is not a task for the faintest of heart but we persevered and feel confident you will all enjoy the changes that are being implemented by myself and hard working team members as we speak. I would like to break down exactly what was changed so that everyone is aware of what to expect from this update. I will do my best to be informative and overall patient for any questions you all might have regarding these changes.

- First and foremost TheNook has gotten a facelift, it has always matched our theme but its updated cosmetic changes now fit our theme and journal skins to a T. Its far more sleek and hopefully easier to navigate and read overall.

- You will have noticed the layering system has changed, now shifting a great deal of once top layered markings to an open layering system. Added flexibility to creation of your Felvargs was key to this decision, which is why we chose to add free white into the free black, siamese, and shadow layering system. No longer requiring free white to show above those very markings.

Below I will break down all changes made to the guides themselves, read over them carefully.

• Overlay has been given an increased marking range and is no longer locked via marking placement. It simply needs to be present in the red required range in some way however it does not need to cover the entire field as it had to previously.

• Highlight has had its ranges updated allowing for more wiggle room/space.

• Shadow's minimum range has been edited, it simply needs to be present in either the muzzle or eye range and no longer has the facial requirement it once had. The overall coverage/range allowance has changed.

• Maned's minimum requirement has been removed and the range has been slightly altered. It simply needs to be present in some way now to pass.

• Tipped no longer requires a 50% coverage range, it just must be present in some way in its usual solid shape.

• Siamese no longer has locked swatches, the marking may still be two toned and the colors chosen freely from a deep black/brown shade.

• Accents have had an increase in their range allowance and now allow for more coverage on the Felvargs face.

• Stitch has had a complete overhaul to change its general appearance from pinstripes, we felt as though the marking was far too similar. It now allows for stitched strokes through the mane and tail of a Felvarg.

• Pinstripes no longer as illegal ranges and may be applied anywhere on a Felvarg provided it is present and follows usual pinstripes rules.

• Brindle has had a range update and now allows for a subtle gradient to the marking.

• Ticked no longer displays an illegal range and can be applied anywhere, in its dominant form ticked can be two different colors and even gradient dramatically.

• Pinto can no longer display white spots in the voided (erased) areas of pinto. While areas of pinto (remaining white) can be erased and have holes, the erased areas cannot have white spots inside them.

• Free White/Pinto can now have fleshy tones on the white areas of the Felvarg, however they must remain subtle.

• Roan no longer requires the entire required range be present, instead, like most markings roan must simply be present somewhere on the design to pass.

• Mask has had an updated range allowance, removing the required eye dots from being an illegal range.

• Points have had their swatches updated allowing for more colors and a more clear visual guide of the acceptable colors.

• Sable no longer requires the entire required range be present, instead, like most markings sable must simply be present somewhere on the design to pass.

• Patchwork has an updated swatch allowing for a more cream allowance, giving more freedom with its usual white swatches.

• Merle no longer requires the design use a single color to include small scattered patches, allowing for the use of these patches regardless of the number of colors present.

• Free Black & Free White no longer have locked swatches, so long as the colors chosen are natural to the base coat color and are visibly black/white it will pass.

• Blue chow flesh colors have been updated to accommodate mosaic better.

03/28/2018 Hey there everyone, MrsEvelyn here to let you know that the pack functions are back up and running again! You can now add and remove Felvargs to and from your pack once again, log pack points, you name it! Also, pack alphas! You might want to take a look at the website and see just what we have in store for you. If you click on the Pack Database and then your pack's name, you will be able to buy and add things directly to your pack's cache. You will also be able to customize this page! We are hard at work coming up with an easy to use guide for you to explain how it all will work. Thank you so much for being patient during this time as we give packs the rework that they needed. We cannot wait to show you what else we have coming!

03/18/2018 MrsEvelyn here to hopefully break down and explain just what can and cannot be done when using a Rune of Expression. A rune of expression is used to alter the physical import expression of your Felvarg. When using this rune only the expression should be altered, while we will all moderate ear positions to be altered to match the expression, the rest of the Felvargs lineart should remain in its natural state. This means if you choose to redraw the eye the eye must remain a relative shape and size to that of the original eye, these runes were not intended to simply redraw the current artwork without an expression present. There will be no altering of the skeletal shape of the Felvarg's head or lineart not relative to the expression. Be mindful if you choose to alter the mouth members should avoid unintentionally making the design appear as though it has a physical mutation present, for example fangs. Unfortunately due to a few extreme expression submissions we need to be a little more strict and informative as to the use of this item and its purpose.
